Since 1991, Alabaré has been providing safe accommodation and a pathway of support to help people move toward a brighter future. Today, they are a national charity with homes and services across the south of England and Wales, offering tailored support to young people, care leavers, young parents and their babies, Armed Forces veterans, and those struggling with their mental wellbeing.
Every day, Alabaré provides vital housing, mental health support, and practical guidance to those in need, helping them regain stability and independence. Their mission aligns perfectly with our values at WellBox, so we’re very proud to contribute to their life-changing work.

Transforming Lives & Ending Homelessness
Alabaré’s mission is simple yet powerful: to end homelessness by offering safe accommodation, essential support services, and pathways to independence.
For many, homelessness isn’t a choice – it’s the result of unexpected life challenges like job loss, mental health struggles, or family breakdowns. Alabaré steps in to provide not just a place to stay, but also the guidance and resources needed to help individuals regain their confidence and move forward.
With an extensive network of homes, drop-in centres, and specialised support services, Alabaré has made a significant impact:
- 2,700 training hours were completed by their team
- 2,894 people were supported by their services in the last year
- 297 people successfully moved on from residential support to independent living
- 72% of residents in supported accommodation have struggled with their mental health
- 2,977 hours of wellbeing support were delivered to young people
Alabaré’s work extends to some of the most vulnerable members of society, making sure that no one is left behind on their journey to independence.
Supporting Veterans Through Alabaré’s Homes for Veterans
One of Alabaré’s most impactful initiatives is Homes for Veterans, providing accommodation and support for ex-service personnel who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
With homes across the South and South West of England and Wales, Alabaré is the largest provider of supported housing for homeless veterans of working age in Wales. At any one time, they can provide a safe place to live for around 100 veterans, offering tailored support to help them rebuild their civilian lives.
Alabaré also runs Boots on the Ground, a programme that helps veterans struggling with mental wellbeing by engaging them in outdoor activities that build confidence, self-esteem, and camaraderie. In addition, their Veterans Self Build Programme not only provides housing but also trains veterans in construction, giving them valuable skills and a sense of purpose as they work towards a stable future.
