We’re Officially a B Corp! What That Means (and Why It Matters)

WellBox are B-Corp certified!

Something big has happened: we’re now a Certified B Corporation™.

It’s a milestone we’ve worked hard for – but more than that, it’s a public commitment to doing business differently. Being a B Corp means we’ve met rigorous standards for social and environmental impact, transparency, and accountability. And it shows that we’re serious about building a business that gives more than it takes!

This certification represents how we show up for our team, our clients, our community, and the planet -every day. We are proud to join a cohort of amazing organisations who are striving for better.

In this post, we’ll share what B Corp Certification means, how we got here, and why it matters to the way we work now and in the future.

So… What Is B Corp Certification?

Let’s start with the basics.

B Corp Certification is a globally recognised designation awarded to businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. It’s led by B Lab, a non-profit that’s helping redefine what success in business really looks like.

To become certified, companies are assessed across five key areas:

Workers, Customers, Governance, Environment, and Community.

It’s a rigorous, verified process – and companies don’t just pass once and coast. B Corps are required to recertify every three years, showing ongoing improvement and a commitment to leading with purpose.

To put it plainly, B Corp status signals that a business is walking the walk, not just talking about values on a slide deck.

Our B-Corp Impact Score: 91.3

As part of the certification process, we completed the B Impact Assessment – a detailed review of how our business impacts people and the planet. The assessment covers everything from how we treat our team, to how we source our products, manage our operations, and contribute to our wider community.

We’re proud to have earned a verified score of 91.3, exceeding the 80-point threshold required to become a certify.

Here are just a few things that helped us get there:

  • Sourcing with intention – prioritising UK-based, ethical suppliers
  • Built-in giving – donating meals and gifts with every order
  • Sustainability efforts – reducing packaging waste and making lower-impact choices where possible
  • People-first culture – flexible working, fair pay, and a genuine focus on wellbeing
  • Transparency and accountability – putting purpose at the heart of how we operate

No shortcuts. No tick-box exercises. Just ongoing work to do things the right way – even when it’s harder.

What We Did to Get Here

B Corp Certification isn’t something you buy – it’s something you build. Behind every point in our impact score is a decision, a habit, or a moment of asking: can we do this better?

Here’s what that’s looked like for us:

  • Every order gives back. For every gift sent, we donate to UK charities tackling issues like food poverty and mental health. To date, that’s resulted in thousands of meals donated to people in need.
  • We support local. We prioritise working with UK-based, independent suppliers – many of them small businesses doing brilliant things in their own right.
  • Sustainability matters. From cutting excess packaging to choosing lower-impact options where we can, we’re always working to reduce waste (without compromising the unboxing experience).
  • Our team comes first. We’ve built WellBox with flexibility, fairness, and wellbeing at its core – because good work starts with people who feel valued and supported.
  • We keep things transparent. From our internal processes to our partnerships, we’re committed to accountability and honesty, not just in words but in practice.

This certification is the result of doing the work – not just once, but consistently.

This Isn’t the Finish Line

Becoming a B Corp isn’t a one-time achievement. In fact, it’s a framework for holding ourselves to account and pushing ourselves to keep improving.

Every three years, we’ll go through the full B Impact Assessment again, and the standards will keep rising (as they should). That means continuing to ask the hard questions, review our practices, and make better choices as we grow. There’s still work to do – and we’re here for it.

We’re committed to building a business that’s not just good at what it does, but one that’s genuinely good for the people and communities it touches.
